Description

This is the final image from the backlog of summer data after I had nearly 6 weeks if clear skies shortly after moving up north. I have always wanted to capture this target in a nice frame filling, high res image. SH2-157, The Lobster Claw, is very bright in all 3 narrow band channels. I probably went overboard with the total exposure time, but it made this image fairly straight forward to put together. The stacked images were very clean and the data was very strong. I was very careful with the framing of this object to get the whole target edge to edge and not cut off the star cluster NGC 7510 on he upper right of the frame. The data made this a natural for the Hubble palate. I didn't push the contrast and saturation too much as I tried to maintain as much detail as I could and not look like a box of crayons exploded on the screen!

Thanks for looking!
